Restoring Mobility, Confidence, and Independence

Lower limb prosthetics are at the heart of what we do at Horizon Prosthetics. Whether you’ve experienced an amputation due to trauma, illness, or congenital conditions, our team is here to help you regain mobility and reclaim your independence. We proudly serve patients throughout the surrounding communities of Denver and Colorado Springs.

Our goal is to create a custom lower limb prosthesis that fits comfortably, functions efficiently, and supports your lifestyle—whether you’re walking around the house, chasing after grandkids, or returning to athletic activities.

Types of Lower Limb Prostheses We Provide

We specialize in prosthetic solutions for all levels of lower limb loss:

  • Transtibial (Below-Knee) Prosthesis
For individuals with a below-the-knee amputation. These prostheses typically provide excellent mobility and functionality with the right socket design and suspension system.
  • Transfemoral (Above-Knee) Prosthesis
For those with above-the-knee amputations. These systems often include a prosthetic knee joint and require a well-fit socket for balance, comfort, and gait alignment.
  • Hip Disarticulation & Hemipelvectomy Prostheses
Complex, high-level prostheses for patients with amputations through the hip joint or pelvis. These systems require extensive customization and training, and we’re equipped to help you through every step.
  • Partial Foot, Symes, and Knee Disarticulation Prostheses
We offer solutions for lower limb differences at all levels, including advanced socket designs and foot systems that support stability and shock absorption
  • Pediatric Lower Limb Prosthetics
Our team has deep experience in caring for children with limb differences, ensuring their prostheses grow with them and support active, playful lives.

Advanced Materials and Technology

We offer both custom and modular prosthetic systems, utilizing the latest in:

  • Lightweight carbon fiber and composite materials
  • High-activity and energy-return feet
  • Microprocessor-controlled knee units
  • Vacuum and suction suspension systems
  • Custom silicone or gel liners for skin comfort

Our practitioners carefully select each component to match your daily activities and long-term goals.

A Patient-Centered Approach

We know this journey is personal. That’s why our process focuses on collaboration, education, and trust. From your first evaluation to long-term follow-up, our team will:

  • Explain all your options in clear, supportive language
  • Communicate directly with your physician and insurance provider
  • Ensure your prosthesis is expertly fit and aligned
  • Provide ongoing support for adjustments, refits, and new devices as needed

We also help patients understand their insurance coverage and responsibilities upfront—no surprise bills, just quality care.

We always recommend that patients speak with their physician to determine whether a prosthetic device is appropriate for their overall care plan. Once a prescription is provided, we’ll take it from there—supporting you through every phase of care.

Above the Crowd!
“A picture of myself (left) Drew Judkins and Lt Col Matt Hepp jumping into the DoD Warrior Games that were held here at the Air Force Academy last June. We are doing a “down-plane” maneuver where we lock legs and fly our canopies toward the ground until 500 feet, then separate and land next to each other in the Track and Field Stadium. Probably the most physical of all the maneuvers we do, and definitely glad I had the Ossur CTI brace for added protection and perfect fit! Thank you Horizon Prosthetics!”
